For snapping drywall anchors in place

On the other hand, the price and number of anchors seem pretty good, but you'll need them because the tip of the screw is so brittle that it breaks off in the drywall , which then embeds itself, causes even more frustration. Maybe I just have a random bad batch.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Good but not great

Very happy with this drywall anchor.

I like these anchors more than any other anchors I've tried. Feel much firmer and more protected. Easy to install and also easy to remove. I prefer to drill a pilot hole first to reduce the deformation of the drywall when the anchor first enters the drywall, but overall I'm very satisfied.

Pros
  • Sturdy Construction
Cons
  • Some Cons

Okay with two complaints

Couldn't hold onto a stud in the wall, the tip broke off but for regular drywall they're fine for me and my screwdriver. However, the screws don't go deep enough, so I had to put epoxy standoffs on my shelves to keep them level. Not a big deal, but a bummer. Maybe they would have gone further with a stronger hand or a drill.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Useless features

Perfect Size - Clasps

Small size is a real plus. All I can find in stores are big and very big. Have been used to run cable ducts and they worked great. I didn't want to use double sided tape on the raceways in case I needed to remove them. I'd rather patch a small hole and touch up paint than re-fill the entire length of the track. Very happy with the product.

  • Certified
Cons
  • Very Expensive

Drywall anchor in drywall anchor

If you have a screwdriver you need these drywall anchors. They have a cutout for the cross section, which allows you to screw the dowels directly into the drywall without pre-drilling. After the anchor is installed, the screw is inserted into the end of the anchor. Each of these will hold up to 40 pounds of drywall and in my experience they work pretty well. (If that's not enough, you'll need cavity wall anchors.)

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Doubt

They don't expand like the others

Usually these types of plugs have a hole in the middle so if the screw goes deep enough they will expand and tighten into the wall. This is not the case. So if you try to drive a screw, it will stop at the end of the hole and then try to drive the anchor further into the wall itself. This means the screw must stop 1/4" from the anchor, so it will not work in applications where the thickness of the item being hung is less than 1/4". I had to throw them away after using one and went to Home Depot

  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • I don't remember

Easy to install Medium strength option

I have been using this style of dowels for many years. They are easy to install. I use a stud finder to make sure there is no stud (they don't work directly on the stud, in this case just use a screw). I use an ice pick to mark the spot. This makes it easier to push the guide into the wall and ensures that it goes exactly where I need it. Do not overtighten the screw, which is easy to do with an electric wrench. This should be obvious, but try not to hang more weight than recommended. If you…

Will be ordering more -- for anchors

I bought these anchors to attach hanging hardware to the inside of hollow doors. The design of the corkscrew ensures a secure fit and easy removal when needed. They are very strong and easy to install with a #2 Phillips screwdriver. This self-drilling drywall tool does not require a pilot hole, but a pre-drilled 3/16" hole (for fasteners this size) is required in thin solid panels such as hollow core doors. In fact, fasteners even go into drywall. Much easier with pre-drilling and less chance…

Pros
  • Drywall anchor
Cons
  • Slightly torn
