Yes, another kitchen gadget :)

My husband is Mexican and very handy. I'm white and love to treat chefs to parties. I tried to buy his mom kitchenware and he kept explaining to me that his mom only cooks with a pot and a wooden spoon and he doesn't use a tea bag strainer, rice cooker, etc. He's also a bit irritated by some of my gadgets and doesn't see the need for a panini press. {He still loves and spoils me, but we compromised on a few things} Well, it turns out he loved that hamburger press, which was shocking! We probably fry once a week and buy pre-pressed patties, which are surprisingly expensive compared to regular ground beef. Being an avid griller he could tell that homemade patties never cook properly because they vary in size/density etc and given the occasion my husband likes his medium cooked patties and it was just an arduous feat with hand pressed patties . also gives us the ability to grind up our own patty meat (thanks to one of my 6 stovetop blender attachments - because as you know I thought I should have this device too and only used it twice before getting abs for burgers, so it also helped me justify another purchase.) So we were able to make some brisket patties, bacon patties, liver and kidney patties, and buy Wagyu ground beef to make patties that you naturally get homogeneous and well cooked to need. In short, it's weird how often you end up using it if you use it, especially if you're a griller. However, you'll need patty paper to make it effective, and you can either cut it yourself or buy it relatively cheaply (especially if, like us, you're paying for pre-formed raw patties - it's a lot cheaper anyway). They stick together better on the grill and you can also easily add admixtures or make a juicy Lucy.
