This is a great product, I was able to cook pasta, sauces and vegetables as quickly as if I was using a gas stove. This device heats up as soon as you set the control to 1. I was able to adjust the heat from 1 to 5 using the dial (5 being hottest and highest). I was also able to keep my veggies warm by turning the dial to 1. After cooking, I turned the dial past 1, skipped three dots and also unplugged the appliance to make sure it was off and started to cool. Place the appliance on a stable and level surface to prevent your pans from tipping over or spilling, which could result in injury. It was a great purchase and exceeded all of my expectations. it was worth the money
