The sisal on our cat's old scratching post has deteriorated so much over time that our cat's claws sometimes get caught in loose fabric. Unfortunately, our cat doesn't like rope-covered scratching posts and there aren't that many good options that are covered with sisal. Also, the bar itself was still in good condition, so we decided to repair it rather than replace it. However, it is next to impossible to find a reasonably strong sisal fabric substitute. When I saw this rug and realized that the sizes (sort of) fit, I decided to give it a try. We pulled the old fabric off the rod, wrapped the new mat horizontally, glued it, and stapled it in several places. The mat doesn't cover the whole frame, but it's enough for our cat to use it again. And luckily she loves it! - The carpet was delivered quickly and in good condition. It seems sturdy and well made. Hope our cat enjoys it for a long time.
