Good for the first time. The device is attractive and quiet, almost silent at minimum fan speed. Now for the bad. The LED ring around the base of the device is too bright. It's also completely unnecessary in fact. The same can be done with the small LED display on the top panel. The light is so bright that it illuminates the whole room. You can now turn off the lights, but you'll need a two-star app and your phone or tablet to do so. To do this you need to create an account and give them your email address (that's why I save the junk email address). Here's the final straw, using the app to turn off the lights will turn off the glare of the LED ring light AND the panel light, which is a good idea if this is happening in the bedroom. But every time you change the fan speed or turn on the device, the LED ring turns on. The only way to kill him is to pull out your phone, open the app, and then turn off the light. So when you turn the device on or change the fan speed by pressing the buttons on the top panel, the blinding LED ring lights up again and you have to pull out your phone to turn it off. If this device had a separate button to turn the light on and off from the top I would love it. Instead I returned it.
