LOVE and makes DIY possible.

So many DIY projects! I'm a nurse and I do a DIY project maybe once or twice a year; otherwise not an expert. I have used it to refurbish a children's dresser that has been in the family for 18 years (I bought a used and old one at a flea market when I was pregnant) and converted it for our family's 4 children. At first I struggled to come up with a plan to make it look nice without having to remove multiple layers of paint. it went from pink and white and pretty to boyish soccer to blue etc. The top wood was a bit chipped from old paint and wouldn't look good even with a couple of fresh coats to smooth it out. I ended up using superhero material from a fabric store, removed the top of the dresser and used a stapler to stretch and secure. Then I covered it with Mod Podge Sealer about 7 times, giving plenty of time to dry in between. This created an almost acrylic-like layer. I couldn't take the front door apart without destroying it, so I cut the fabric as closely as possible to the shape of the inner door and tried to tuck it into the frame with a sharp blade. Have used the Mod Podge a few times on the door again. For the OCD and Superhero critics: My sister got me mixing DC and Marvel Superheroes on dresser handles. I am sorry!
