STAY these boots!

I bought these boots for my 50lb Labradoodle who likes to walk outside in the cold and snow but gets snowballs and salt between his toes which burns his bunions. Last winter I was looking for boots but couldn't find any suitable ones, the reviews were so-so. However, when I saw them where they "GUARANTEE STAY" I decided to give them a try. I use them on ice and snow and even in deep snow with a crust on top, they haven't come loose yet! I'd say we've put about 20-25 miles in them since we got them and I've never had to adjust or anything. I've also used them on very cold days at the dog park with no problems. They don't turn on his feet and the underside shows no signs of wear (although we rarely use them on tarmac, mostly snow, ice and sidewalks). When I first put them on he was walking around the house very weirdly, but as soon as we went outside he forgot about them and walked/walked normally. The bottom of the shoe is made of rubber, which provides good traction. My dog gets brushed regularly so her nails never get too long, don't know how long they last on the sidewalk with long nails just something to consider. Finally, one of the reviews on this site mentioned that these boots are not suitable for the dog, paws are at "right angles" to his feet. My dog's paws are definitely like that, they look like cat paws and the ankle is definitely not gradual. Across and straight ahead. However, I had no problems with these boots. So if there are any concerns, I would still try. I suggest checking out the Ultra Paws website for sizing info as they give you a little more info on sizing and taking your measurements and suggest going off the 1/4 inch easement. which is not listed on amazon. Editing this review on 12/30/2016 - two years later - I still have these boots, we still use them all winter! They have never left my dog's paws YET. A bit worn so I'm thinking of buying a new pair for next winter. Used intensively for three winters, so far no complaints. Durable and great design!
