As a self-cooker and almost daily salad eater, this small salad bowl is just right for me! I like not only the size, but also the easy cleaning and storage. It couldn't have been more effective in pulling out the water and leaving me a well dried crisp salad! I simply place the shredded pieces of romaine lettuce in a colander, spray with vegetable peeler and mix with my hands for about a minute. I take out the colander and rinse the lettuce in cold water while stirring. I shake off excess drops of water and from there I can simply put the sieve back in the bowl and cover it with a lid. I do a few twists of the handle in each direction a few times (the handle is a good size and comfortable to grip even with very small arthritis hands). I was always amazed at how much water this baby pulls out! I take out the colander and dump the clean, dry lettuce onto a plate - easy! Then to clean, I just put a drop of dish soap with some warm water in the opening of the lid, put my thumb on the opening and shake very well. I don't know why I've never had a salad bowl, but I'm very glad I found it. I've been using it almost every day for about 3 months now and I feel it's strong enough to last for years to come. I think this is a great purchase!
