I recently bought a Surface Pro 7 and downgraded my SP 4 to a backup/travel computer. I need an HDMI port for my large external monitor and would also like to have multiple USB ports. I used a similar dock from the same company for SP 4 and had no complaints so I bought this dock for my SP 7. It works great. The only time I had problems was copying music from my external DVD/CD player to the SP drive. Some older CDs don't work well when the player is docked, but they're fine if I remove the dock and just plug the player into the SP's own USB port. Overall, these docking stations met my needs; they are lightweight and portable so you can easily travel with your Surface Pro; and they're a lot cheaper than Msoft's own Surface Dock.
