Well designed crossbar (as is) but this unit has the wrong specs. stated: Actual hook spacing is 22.75 inches, not advertised 21.25 inches. In my case, this made the product unsuitable for my wife's smaller framed bike. I also don't like the fact that these cross braces aren't physically attached to the bike (most if not all are designed that way), which allows the bike to "wiggle" while on the rack. I like my bikes to be securely mounted in the support post with minimal wobble back and forth. This product does not allow this. It also requires the seat to stay on the bike (I like to take mine off so it doesn't weather and/or disappear). If you decide you can live with these shortcomings, the actual product is well built and the clamping mechanism looks very nice.
