Works as promised, but pay attention to grounding and heat dissipation.

Aside from the car's quirks, installation was easy. Just make sure the ground is good or the amp will remain in protection mode. The illuminated Boss logo looks sleek, but the logo is blue and might not look great with interior LED themes. Other users have complained about overheating, so I knew this could be the problem. The primary ventilation openings are located on the underside of the amp and the brackets allow only 1/8 inch clearance between the amp and the mounting surface, preventing heat from escaping when mounted on a carpeted surface. I fixed this by making spacers out of 3/4 "PVC 1" long. Paint them black for a professional look. Boss should consider top venting or extra padding. The resulting surface offset doesn't make much of a difference in terms of space and allowed me to route the wiring behind the amp to reduce the chance of snagging. I got the gain set right and am happy with the results. My only complaint is that the remote doesn't seem to have any effect and the installation instructions, particularly the remote, could use some clarification.
