Not a bad unit. I ordered from amazon.com on February 6th and received it on February 8th. After unpacking, I attached a mobile antenna to my SWR 144/430 in the office. The SWR on 2m was about 2.3 and on 70cm about 1.5, not very good but my antenna sucked. Good enough for testing. The output power is about 18-20 watts on UHF and about 15 on VHF. I wasn't too happy but after reading other reviews I expected that. Apparently most Chinese radios do not produce the advertised power. I didn't like it but thought I could live with it. Spent about 30 minutes playing with it and learning the menu system. Lots of reviews complain about this, I found it very easy, but I also hand program my Baofeng HTs so maybe I'm just used to it. Starts it on low power and came back a few hours later. Now for the bad. Scanning is SLOW. To slow down, to really be of use. It also went out of range when scanning UHF and received commercial VHF radio. I felt like I almost made it useless. It's really bad now. I heard some chatter on the local repeater and picked up the mic to identify myself. The screen went black. I put the mic away, turned it back on, picked the mic up again, same thing. I think I have a lemon shorted in the mic. it was for me I sent it back to Amazon for a refund. Offers! Before you buy a radio, go to eham.net and look at the reviews. Now I order AnyTone AT-778UV, reviews on eham are pretty good. Let's see if it gets better.
