Curls and knots

I used this with beads to make peyote stars. Sometimes I had to cut the cord and start a new one because the free end was twisted and tied in a one-piece knot in the middle of the cord, so the needle had to be cut off. Maybe this is normal with Fireline? First time using it and will try something else when it's time to buy it again.
