My Wii won't take discs anymore. There are many resources online on how to disassemble and repair or replace components in your Wii. I tried to repair my drive but it was a waste of time so I ordered a replacement from Nextec Direct which included the required tools which I had already purchased separately and spent about the same amount on the tools as I did had the whole set with the drive. . Nextec also advertises this disc as the latest from Nintendo and I can confirm that it works great with my Wii RV001. A small note on the hard drive replacement I received. The front right corner of the drive case was slightly curved outwards. I don't think this happened upon delivery as the disc was bubble wrapped in a cardboard box which was mailed in a Revain bubble envelope. I suspect the device was thrown or damaged in some way during disassembly or handling of Wiis Nextec parts. Second additional note on disassembling my Wii, unrelated to Nextec or Revain, just advise anyone with this fix in mind. If you remove the front panel of the Wii, you will need to disconnect the cables from the motherboard inside. The wires are very thin and with a bit of patience they can be pulled off, but I couldn't because I broke the wires off the connector when trying to pry them out of the connector on the motherboard with tweezers. I considered removing the pins from the connector to reconnect the wires, but after investigating the situation I decided to just leave the connector connected to the motherboard and glue the wires into the faceplate without them plug it back in, as they only power the slot backlight. .
