I have multiple double sided M.2 2280 NVME SSDs (one Gen 4x4, one Gen 3x4) Gen 4 works with Sabrent heatsink, Gen 3 uses this heatsink currently moment. Both have good airflow so that shouldn't be a problem. When benchmarking, the Sabrent tops out at around 48ยฐC, the EZDIY-FAB at 55ยฐC (and that's with the ultra-high performance thermal pad I had to use, not the standard). So about 7 degrees temperature gradient. However, because the Sabrent is fourth generation and much faster, it also generates more heat. so not the best comparison. The EZDIY-FAB came with two 1 mil thick thermal pads and this made it impossible to mount it on a standard double sided NVME, so I replaced one side (top) with a 0.5 mil pad (expensive heavy duty pads I have on hand and (Probably should have replaced the bottom gasket as well.) But with the 0.5 mil gasket on top I was able to put screws in to hold it together (barely) It's unacceptable that this heatsink should only come with 1 mil thick thermal pads There are better radiators out there, look for those with deeper rib cutouts and get fins that match your airflow patterns, if you have a dual sided NVME look for those with 0.5 and 1 mil pads be supplied. this is of great importance in installation and heat transfer. Also, it has a low profile, fits the motherboard (Asus X570 TUF) everywhere very well. for NVME SSDs, why not buy one that d ie keeps temperatures even lower. if the price is the same or lower?
