I purchased this tailgate courtesy light wiring harness after purchasing the lights from an eBay seller. I mistakenly assumed the eBay listing came with seat belts. It ended up being about the same price as if I had bought the kit (both headlight and wiring harness) from Revain. Everything works great and it plugs straight into the factory wiring on my 2021 GMC Sierra SLE. I didn't have the factory footpegs and speakers. I've added the photos in order, but not sure if that's how they load or display. First I removed one of the inner plugs on the back door. I used an old plastic window tint scraper tool. Just insert it by the cap from the top and then the sides until the caps are loose enough for me to pry it out with my fingers. Once you've got one of them out, you can reach in and use your fingers to pinch the caps from behind and they'll come out much easier. The wiring harness connects to the factory tailgate light. It's the connector with the red clip on the right when looking at the wiring in the liftgate after the caps have been removed. Depending on which posts you will be using, I found it easier to open up the middle ones for wiring. Also, I used the worst of all 4 to put back in and saved the nicer ones for later. Once these are sufficiently worn or broken I will use others. After removing the connector with the red tab by sliding the red tab back and then gently pulling on the tabs that the red tab was holding, insert the connector with the red tab into the single socket on the wire harness. If you stretch the wiring harness, there will be a plug next to this outlet. This plug, which is closest to the outlet, is from the factory assembly where you removed the red locking plug. There are two connectors on the other end of the wiring harness. Then go through the door to where you want to install the light and plug it in. Now turn on the bedside lamps above the cockpit headlights to make sure everything is working before buttoning up all the buttons. After making sure everything worked, I used the included zip ties against the other cables in the tailgate to keep them tidy. Then just slide the standard caps back in and snap the headlights into place. Then ready to go. I installed them today and so far they are working as they should. I don't know how long they will last. They look like pretty good stuff. The wiring harness looks the same as the one that comes with the factory kit, which my local GMC dealer says costs $150. The headlights are just as tight as the factory caps. Feel free to ask any questions. Arrived in about 2 business days.
