Almost perfect for hydration packs and reservoirs

This is a really good product but not perfect. I would say 4.9 stars if I could. I have used it several times for both hiking and mountain biking. The hydration bladder has no rubber/plastic taste, it looks very high quality. The backpack is also very high quality and appears to be very durable. Pockets for storing small items (wallet, keys, phone) even they have straps (MOLLE) installed, so you could buy a small pocket and install it yourself, it would be great. Other small issues are that the water in the insulated hose doesn't heat up quickly, I don't know if the insulation helps and maybe it's more for looks. Also, the regular push-pull valve allows for a little leakage (just drips), but it can be annoying when you take the lid off and water drips onto the front of the clothes. I think I should have had a choice of a regular valve or a bite valve when purchasing, or the product should have come with both. Specifically due to the packaging style, the mouthpiece was fitted but an empty consumer box for the mouthpiece was included - I was told they could have easily swapped the regular valve for a bite valve. I think I could buy a bite valve and an optional magnet tube clamp, but at this point I would have spent about $70 and still not have a front pocket. I would recommend this product but you might want to try contacting the seller and see if you can get them to give you both mouthpieces or at least your choice of which mouthpiece you would like.

Pros
  • Tasteless WXP reservoir with wide, easy-to-reach opening; Storm bite free push-pull valve for drinking through a straw
Cons
  • Negative gift
