If you're on a budget but still need a decent quality 1440p monitor, you won't be wrong. However, don't expect to be blown away by it. I drove Asus at 1080p daily. I bought two of these LGs for a dual screen setup. After switching to them I was a bit disappointed with the colors. Asus had the best contrast, brightness, saturation, and black levels. I also noticed the lack of local dimming zones. However, it is still acceptable for everyday use. I mostly work on the computer, but sometimes I play games. I agree, but if you're a professional color grader or want to play games with really vivid colors or good HDR, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a good 1440p experience at a fairly attractive price these days (2021), this monitor is hard to beat. Despite the flaws, I'm very happy with my decision to buy 2 of these. What I like: - Not necessarily specific to this monitor, but 27 inches is a great size for 1440p. (108 pixels per inch) - Menu and navigation. It was really easy to adjust all the settings to your liking - Super thin bezels! - No dead pixels. I have 2 of these monitors - black level adjustment. No more eye strain when playing games with dark scenes - Matte black screen handles reflections well - PRICE! At least at the time of purchase there is nothing competing or even existing in this price range. Cons - Viewing angles. Has a perfect viewing point. Also , black on the screen is uneven - Backlight bleeding. Problems with screen brightness above 65-70%. No deep black. Black is still black, but black is much deeper on other monitors - working with HDR. I do not recommend messing with it - power cords. Short cable with monitor plug and adapter for a lot of space on the power strip. - Hue/C-Contrast/Saturation. It's not OLED. It's even easy to beat other IPS monitors. Still acceptable, but don't expect similarities to the LG TVs you see in stores. Conclusion: None of the shortcomings became a decisive factor for me and I am satisfied. 1440p monitors are expensive, but a dual monitor setup was reasonable. If you have the money to buy a better 1440p monitor, go for it. But if, like me, you want decent 1440p quality on as little budget as possible, this monitor is for you.
