Before the simple installation, be sure to check the two screws that hold the bracket on the ceramic for tightness. Each of me was free. Don't over tighten as the screw will hold the ceramic to the metal and can break the ceramic, but they should at least be snug. Neither of them was. They appear to have a standard threaded hole in the bracket to accept the 1/8 IP-27 threaded tube used in regular table lamps, ceiling lights and end fittings. They also have a 1/8" hole on one side. Bracket I used. I'm tired of the dim candelabra bulbs in my ceiling fans. I drilled out the rivets that held those old sockets to the ceiling fan that were 1/8". I removed the bracket of this outlet by removing the two screws holding it together and used a 1/8 rivet to attach the bracket of this outlet to the ceiling fan like a candelabra base, then I put the ceramic toe back with two screws attached to the bracket. I then wired all of these outputs to the ceiling fan controls just as they were wired to the old candelabra bases. In these sockets I was then able to use three 100w LED bulbs instead of the old candelabra bulbs which were probably only 25 -W equivalent were The difference is amazing, incredibly better daylight, 300 watt equivalent instead of 75 watt equivalent and it is white light, so I can actually read and see colors as they really are, rather than the sickly yellow look of sub-5000K incandescent bulbs. Temperature. I only gave it 4 stars because one socket had a small ceramic chip which I don't need because there are 10 of them and my three ceiling fans use three each. In addition, as mentioned at the beginning, all the screws have been loosened.
