Slim laptop alternative for Gmail/Chrome use

I wanted a decent sized laptop for travel, mainly email and general web browsing. I looked at many Windows 10 laptops and suddenly realized that a Chromebook is also a laptop but with more limited features compared to a Windows or Apple laptop. So I got this Acer Chromebook CB3-532 as my first Chromebook. A very nice looking laptop with a 15.6 inch screen that's pretty easy to set up and has pretty good picture quality. It has a built-in webcam with a microphone, an SD card reader, 1 USB 3.0 port and 1 USB 2.0 port, and an HDMI port. It has 2 gigabytes of storage, 16 drives and a headphone/speaker jack. However, it does not have a CD/DVD player/recorder. I have attached an external mouse for use with this Chromebook. She works fine. The laptop slows down a bit, but it's not critical for me. I've had this Acer Chromebook for a month now and I'm still learning as I've been using Windows laptops for over 12 years so it's a really big learning curve for me. It has Wi-Fi connectivity and you cannot connect to the internet with this Chromebook, only over Wi-Fi. It fits me. There are no real icons on the Chromebook desktop. Whatever I use on my Windows 7 laptop and have desktop icons. I just need to pipe this through the Chrome browser that's already on this laptop. Battery life seems good, currently averaging 7 hours on a full charge, and for the most part this snazzy Chromebook should do the trick for me. I'm giving this interesting Chromebook 4 stars mainly because it's something new for me to learn, but it looks like my Android smartphone. Needless to say, the learning experience with this Chromebook keyboard is a bit underpowered compared to the Windows/Apple keyboard for me. I can connect an external keyboard to see if the delete key works this way as there is no delete key on the built-in keyboard.
