Nice little lamp. It was well packaged and easy to assemble. I put a 60w bulb in it (if I remember correctly) and in combination with the lampshade it gives off a good amount of light. I really like that the switch is on the cord and not on the 'pole' of the lamp itself. This gives my 5 year old daughter the ability to turn the light on herself (it's in her room); The lamp we used to have to turn on as adults because she couldn't reach the lamp's handle. She loves this new found freedom. I'm thinking about taking double sided tape and sticking it to the back of a bookshelf I have, or even to the wall just behind the side of the bookshelf so we don't have to keep catching the light switch as it falls. behind the shelf. I also like that the cable is "transparent". Unlike the black or white cord, it seems to merge with the lamp and the space around it. To be honest I'm impressed with its quality. Not to say I expected lower quality but I've bought more expensive lamps that look cheaper so I was nervous about the quality given the price. My ONLY complaint is that the gold color looks more like rose gold, at least in my case. Opinion. I have gold decor in my child's room and this lamp has a slightly pinker tone than the decor.
