They are excellent. They are thick, soft and fluffy. I don't see why others are having trouble, although there are some basics you should know. Machine wash is fine, but if you have stains, be sure to pretreat or hand wash if heavily soiled. The edges are clean and straight. If you're looking for a super crispy tissue, ironing is the way to go. They held up very well in my dryer. I wash on Cool (misnamed, hot water is still part of the cycle) and my dryer is on Medium. I suspect some of the other reviewers wash and dry at a high temperature, which can result in less than desired effects (particularly chipped edges). I've had them for a few months now and after the first two wash/dry cycles they are nice and soft. Thread count holds up well and we're bottom line - if you're looking for a great value, good quality product that's an alternative to cotton, look no further.
