
I used this tool to adjust the clutch disc position and was unable to install the gearbox. Except for the release bearing, everything was removed from the car. I finally decided to test the alignment tool and found that the pilot end was 0.010 less than the pilot on my transmission's input shaft. I mounted the tool on my lathe, zeroed the keys and found the pilot runout was 0.025. I had to reduce it and install a bushing the same diameter as my guide shaft. I had to remove the bell and align the disc. The gear is straight. Don't believe this to be true or you will have trouble installing the gearbox the way I did.
