Works for me - solve heating problems.

So the reviews scared me a little. I have to say that anything that says "new version [of the current year]" here falls on weary eyes. But you're reading this because, honestly, there aren't many options for this product. The quality seems to be good. Continuous. this is metal I used it for the L-magsafe1 that sits on top of my Apple Cinema display to basically charge my phone. I have too many cables so this is a good way to use this permanent cable as I don't use any Apple products (other than the screen). I connected my phone and it charged with the mention "fast" for fast charging. I have a Pixelbook, but I'm honestly not going to plug it in just in case (I'd rather use an OEM charger). I will update when/if I do. I found out what the bad reviews mean about how it heats up. For me it didn't heat up at all until my phone hit 100%. If the phone then stayed plugged in at 100%, the product would start to get warm at a certain point. It doesn't heat up at all when nothing is plugged into the USB-c side. Since I only charge my phone, I don't care. I won't leave this overnight. I have a little fan there too. Apple Cinema display. Do I have to say more? Because this product is made of metal, it will cool down immediately if you place it next to a fan. I am considering adding a heatsink if it becomes a nuisance.
