16 inch collar ordered. I currently wear a 16 inch chain collar on my dog that I bought from a large pet store nearby. But I wanted purple so I ordered this one. The chain is very beautiful. I was excited when it arrived as it was brilliant and deep in colour. Pretty cool. But I was disappointed that I couldn't put it on her. So I measured it. In length from end to end (outside the rings) it was only 15 1/2 inches. Hm, should work, but it doesn't. Then I realized that the ferrules are MUCH larger than the ferrules of any other chain collar I have around the house (of various brands and sizes). The large size of the rings reduces the overall "useful" length, the useful length of this collar was only 13 inches! It's about 3 inches shorter than I need. So keep that in mind when ordering.
