Review on πŸ”ͺ Effortlessly Sharpen Your Knives with the Work Sharp Whetstone Knife Sharpener by Omar Alradwan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Is it worth your $30? For me yes.

To be honest I bought this because I wanted to see how the water based stone holder would do. The 1k/6k stone seems to be working well so far, after about 10 different blades on the 1k side it may need a light lapping but that's to be expected with all stones at this price point. Made of silicon carbide so it needs a bit of soaking when sharpening and also a lot of splattering, but it works and washing it off with a little water is a lot easier than washing off oil. I really like the stone holder, it's strong, hard, non-slip and can hold a decent amount of water before it starts to overflow the sides. When the work is sharp the stone holder is sold separately on it's own ID, probably buy another one because I can use it to sharpen around the house on the countertop/table/desk with a bottle of water to keep the stone wet and too to minimize the clutter. The 2 magnetic corner guides are a nice addition although I can't comment on how well they work as I prefer to sharpen by hand so I will never get the chance to use them.
