BOSS Audio BV9979B This model is terribly slow and lacks the standard features you would expect even at this price point. While it sounded better than my stock radio, its user interface and settings just annoyed me. I'm stuck on this unit at the moment because I don't have the time or patience to do a return and I soldered the wires as I suspected I was wishful thinking no I have this unit for my 2000 Chevrolet Silverado Bought to save hundreds of dollars. To buy a double din dash kit and a nicer double din unit I figured that would be the normal middle ground so I went straight knowing I had an extra single din adapter, wire harness and antenna adapter would need because it doesn't come with anything like this, even the bezel and my package didn't even have mounting screws in the box. I read about the shifter that keeps the screen from popping out. I figured it would be ok if I could control the screen turning on and off assuming that was common sense. Until I found out that the screen opens and closes automatically, a good workaround was to turn on my truck, turn on the head unit and close the screen, then turn off the truck and next time I can open and close it myself. Although I wish it was in the settings. There have been many reviews and pictures showing RDS, artist and song info while streaming but this model is AM-FM only and no Bluetooth, big disappointment as it's my main resource, you just get a blank screen with buttons and says streaming. Also, there is a horrible loading delay before each song, like it plays 1 1/2 seconds, stops and then plays the whole song. I think my device has problems.
