I read in a review that to best use this product you need to have an understanding of thermodynamics. Well, that wasn't on the box, the tiny manual, or the online description. Too bad I bought this product before this review was published. So, good for those who do. But for the average buyer who tends to rely more on what is advertised, I expect everything to be as promised. I know it's a cooler so I didn't expect it to act like a fridge. But I expected a couple of bottles to get at least a little cold on a 3 hour trip. I followed all the instructions, plugged in the blue, pre-cooled the unit, etc. It was disappointing. It only had 4 water bottles and a few milky snacks, enough room for air to move around in. It just kept my drinks warm in the car. Not cold to the touch at all. That's nothing compared to my other Walmart device, the Wagan 12V Car Cooler. This requires no pre-cooling, no twisting of wires, no understanding of thermodynamics. I just plugged it in and everything was cool in our car in less than an hour. It's even $20 cheaper than this Koolatron. I have a compact SUV and the Wagan was a bit cramped in the back seat so I bought the Koolatron for its sleek design but I don't think it's any good. If it can't chill a couple of bottles, you definitely can't fill it with something like the one in the picture due to problems with the insulation or something or the fan being easily blocked by the contents as explained in the review that does i have read Some time ago.
