This review is for the the 8MP camera. To view/configure the camera from a Windows system, I just plug in the camera's ethernet cable to a switch, then used a 12V power supply to power up the camera. Then I used a browser to go to the camera's default IP address (192.168.1.64). That worked perfect. The GUI comes up and I was able to do configuration and live viewing. Great! You can install an SD Card to capture video or connect the camera directly to a NVR.However, my goal was to use this with my existing 8MP PoE NVR. To do so, I set the camera's IP address (via the camera's GUI) from the hard coded IP address to DHCP, then connected the ethernet cable to the NVR. (i made sure to remove the external 12V power). From my NVR, I added the camera, set it to ONVIF, and the camera was detected immediately - good. With my 4K monitor and the 8MP NVR/Camera, it is a crystal clear picture. can't get any better. It is even better than my existing 8MP cameras. It offers a wide angle viewing (103 degrees). I mounted this camera on a corner ceiling, and it can see both left/right sides and even more. Exactly what I wanted to get a full view. So, from a video quality standpoint, it is an excellent camera. Now, because I am using this with a third-party NVR via the ONVIF protocol, you will not be able to use all the full features of the camera. This is not really a camera issue, but rather a compatibility issue between two different manufactures and the use of ONVIF.From what I see in the camera settings and the NVR, it appears that the camera only supports up to 15 FPS at 8MP setting. 15 FPS is a little low for a 8MP camera. My other 8MP cameras do a minimal of 20FPS. However, in my case, where I have the camera now does not require 20FPS. 15 FPS is good enough. One issue I had with the camera installation was trying to adjust the camera angle (up/down). With the camera mounted on the ceiling, it would always point in a downward position. I could not get past a 30-degree angle. When I looked at the camera, you can see in the attached picture that the ethernet cable hits the circular rim of the mount. This prevents the camera from any further movement. So, to get around this, I just shoved the end part of the cable in the gap between the flat part of the camera and the rim. It was a little tight, but it worked. They really need to come up with a better design because bending that ethernet cable that much is not a good thing.Another issue that I have, even now, is that the time clock is off by one hour. Even though NTP is set, and all my other cameras on the NVR have the correct time, this camera is one hour behind. I tried everything to get it to sync, but no luck. This included getting directly into the camera settings to set the clock. Here is a list of what works with this third-party NVR and ONVIF:- Configuring the motion detection grid.- Motion detection/alarm. My NVR always goes into alarm/record mode when motion is detected,- Tamper detection.- Color adjustments.- Exposure and white balance.- Automatic Night/Day detection. BTW: Night time vision is superb. Video is very clear and almost like daytime. During night time, you can see everything in my garage - like daytime.- WDR. Works well. This comes into play when the scenery has to different lightning. As an example, close by is shady, but background is very bright with sunshine. You can enable WDR on the camera, and this will remove the high brightness background without affecting the objects nearest the camera.I have to enable this feature because my camera points in my garage, but the background (out the garage door) is very bright with sunshine. From the viewing camera, that background imagery is all white and you really cant see the background. With WDR, it removes that white background so you can see all objects in the distance. What does not work with this third-party NVR and ONVIF:- Line cross and Intrusion detection (i did not expect this to work since the camera itself does not have this).- Image rotation.- NTP time setting does not appear to work properly.- Privacy mask.- When using my NVRs mobile app, two-way audio does not work. I can only listen to audio. From a support side, if you go to the VIKYLIN website, they have live chat support. Good!Overall, I like this camera and it serves its purpose. I was short one 8MP camera, and this low-cost 8MP camera is perfect for my needs.
