I personally use them as everyday tech tank tops during the colder months. When it's cold and/or damp, it's best if the layer closest to the skin absorbs sweat and dries quickly. Unlike a cotton t-shirt, polyester doesn't absorb moisture or keep it close to the skin, so you don't get evaporative chills like you normally would. Instead, your sweat becomes damp and spreads across the fabric, allowing it to evaporate from your skin more quickly, rather than being absorbed by the fabric and held directly against your skin. These shirts also don't feel as cold as cotton. While not the most fashionable of shirts on their own, they make an excellent undershirt for cooler weather under a mid-layer such as a flannel shirt, sweater or fleece. They've effectively replaced regular cotton t-shirts for me when it gets cooler, and because they're so affordable I have enough to wear every day when needed. Great price for layering!
