Bad Product for Receiver

Factory Refurbished VIP 722K Dual Tuner HD Dish Network Not Working. I emailed the East India Trading Company asking them to return the unit and they said they would not accept the unit unless the Dish network ran a diagnosis. The hardware is not working, so Dish Network cannot diagnose it. I want to return the device for a new one or get my money back.

Pros
  • Excellent Design
Cons
  • I will not say anything

Do not buy refurbished

I have used this product, Dish 722k, for many years. loved her. Mine died so I bought this refurbished product from Prime Electronics. I received it on 08/07/2020. Problems with the DVR and other things started for me in early December 2020. He finally died completely on December 20, 2020. Cannot return as the window is only 30 days. For the price they charge, the warranty should last at least a year.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Disconnected the old receiver and installed the new one. (Make sure the HDMI cable is connected and the TV's input is set to the correct HDMI port.) Powered on and started downloading immediately. It automatically went through steps 1 through 5. Called Dishnetwork and gave them the receiver number and smart card number for step 6. After a few minutes, the receiver began downloading the signal and program guide. Local channels too. Works great.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • unreliable

Needed an update -- Satellite TV

Update -- just tried to watch some recorded programs and everything is gone except today's recordings -- unplugged to reset and no difference -- very disappointed! Actually stand VIP722K, so there is much more storage capacity. Didn't want a hopper and knew our old 722 would eventually disappear so finally found a 2 722K at a reasonable price. The HD picture is excellent, the Remote 2 picture is very good. I am very satisfied with these receivers, although I have only connected one so far. Our…

BIG DISH NETWORK DVR

I have had Dish Satellite Service for eight years. After doing some research on which DISH NVR to choose (722, 722K, 922 or Dish Hopper - DISH Network's latest DVR), found some gotchas on models and didn't get DISH to give me the best option - DISH 722K DVR (not a 722 DVR and definitely not a 922), I decided to buy it through Reider Electronics to get something that DISH didn't agree with. I am very happy with what I received from ReiderElectronics. Your delivery service was on time and the…

  • Satisfied so far

Amazing receiver - best of the best to HOPPER

Before the advent of HOPPER (along with its annoying TV commercials), the ViP722K was the best receiver in the range. It has all the bells and whistles you would expect from a classic DVR. Supports two TVs, comes with two remote controls (one of them is UHF, so you can control the receiver from another room where TV2 is located). There is an optional Over The Air (OTA) add-on to add your local broadcast channels. The OTA module is often overlooked due to the added functionality. While you're…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Big and chunky

The VIP 722K is exactly what my new Panasonic TV needs.

As I am on a Dish Network package which does not include a DVR I am providing my own: Before purchasing the VIP 722K I was using an older Dish 625 DVR. has an HDMI output source such as the VIP 722K. The VIP 722K has only been connected for a few days, but what a difference in picture quality, sound quality and functional benefits such as automatic aspect ratio adjustment. Complaints mentioned in old reviews. After you connect the DVR to your system and acquire a satellite signal, the software…

I bought a 722k DVR receiver from DISH last fall. Since then it has been working almost perfectly. The DVR itself seems to work well, the only complaint I have about it is the OTA tuner I bought for it (OTA tuner does NOT come with the Dish 722 model) from Revain, an inferior product by comparison to the OTA tuner that came with my Model 622 DVR. The OTA tuner takes longer to tune to local digital channels (it finds them all during tuning) and struggles to keep the channel locked as the signal…

Attention buyers good for TV and video

I bought a DISH VIP 722K dual tuner in January 2012. Finally, the satellite was installed in April as we had to wait for some warmer weather in Alaska. About two weeks ago I kept losing the satellite signal. We double checked everything: cables, connections, gaps, corners, etc. I noticed that the unit made noises like it was shorting out where the HDMI cable was plugged into the back of the receiver. So we tried another receiver (a much cheaper DISH receiver) and it worked. I contacted the…
