This product works, you just need to understand what you are buying and have realistic expectations. It doesn't remove the minerals, it turns them into small particles that don't stick and build up, that's all. I encourage you to have one of the local magnet companies come in and give you an estimate for their system, which I did and the cost was over $1500. You also didn't give the answers I wanted, how do I know this will work? All I got was; you will feel it Well, for $1,500 it wasn't enough. What I got from them was the understanding that depending on the size of your house you will need multiple magnets (information I have not seen published anywhere on this product). When I saw the reviews on this product I thought there was nothing to do. to lose. I went ahead and bought a large set plus a small apartment magnet. The key here is pre and post water heater installation as they dictate. I went one step further and added a smaller magnet right at the dishwasher inlet. The difference was instantaneous, my stainless steel dishwasher sparkled instantly, the glasses were crystal clear, the white powder that came out wiped away instantly, which wasn't possible before. We decided to add another module to the system and are still planning to add another one. I've spent about $200 so far. a far cry from $1500.00 with the added benefit of no annoying salesman to do and no salt to carry around. I've read some reviews of shower doors, don't expect the shower door to clean itself, clean yours first; Before you install the magnets, see how they stay clean, amazing! I'm not done yet either, we are in the process of redoing the bathroom, I plan to put another small magnet in the wall before the new shower is up, my shower doors will be crystal clear. Here's a trick we learned from demos of one of those super-expensive $6,500 water softeners: Before you add the magnets, take some good old Ivory dish soap and a glass jar, add 1/2 teaspoon of soap, and fill half up with water, shake it . Small bubbles form upwards in hard water, which disappear again very quickly. After installing the magnets, repeat the process again and you will see big bubbles that will stay for a long time. We have reduced the use of soap everywhere. This is technology and information that every homeowner should have. Stop wasting money pouring water down the drain with super expensive water softening systems, there's no point. If you really want to change the system like me, add some really good 20BB filters to your home water system, I have 3 installed; 20, 10 and 0.5 Β΅m. I have the cleanest water around and have spent less than a basic Sears water softener that doesn't purify the water. Don't dwell on the fact that you have to spend thousands for good water. Feel free to buy this product, it works. [[ASIN:B00GQEMQ4M Magnetic Water Softener - Large Two Piece Combo Unit - Protects Cold & Hot Water Pipes]
