The wick trimmer is "simple", I've never had one, despite decades of burning candle. What have I missed! This particular item is amazing: lightweight but more than durable, elegant, with a perfect design. I'm amazed at how something so beautiful was missing from my life. This thing now sits next to my favorite candle. The cost is more than acceptable, and a small "basin" for collecting wick debris works just fine. The length is perfect for every candle I have. The packaging was even attractive, which is why I consider it a gift for candle-loving friends. It just seems "old fashioned" when it's really necessary. Simple things like this are so important right now. I can only praise the manufacturer and seller!
