Review on ๐ŸŠ Rapid Monofin Swimming Flipper by FINIS by John Boyce

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Minimum quality. just relax in the pool.

I personally wanted to use it for freediving in the ocean but it really isn't a fin for that sort of thing. I sent it back as soon as I had a test ride in the pool. I think this is a decent (definitely the best) product for recreational pool swimming. Biggest complaint: The plastic is very thin. (Neither am I an athlete with strong legs). I tried the Finis Trainer which I modeled thinking it was TOO stiff for me, but this one is very uneven and deforms a lot with each impact. The strap design is very primitive. No matter how tight it was, it still slipped off the heel, and not because I have small feet, but simply from a kick, the freely rotating strap gradually falls down the Achilles tendon. The strap also cuts into the skin a bit. No soft edges.3. Size: I wear a women's 10, but I still had to tighten the straps at their tightest point, so if you have a smaller foot you will definitely have trouble holding the fin. And yes, the other reviewers are correct that it is indeed made for people with narrow feet. I know this because I have narrow feet and the fit is still very tight. It will definitely fit a large foot, LENGTH but probably not WIDTH. matches your powers. As for open water freediving (it says you can use it in the ocean) I wouldn't recommend it as it slips off the heel (remember it doesn't swim) and digs into the heel. makes long journeys uncomfortable. And of course, the thin plastic really lacks traction. For open water you should invest more money in European monofins as they are longer and of better quality.
