This is a return for us. This is a fantastic product that works really well, but the subscription for these cameras is not scalable and costs $10/month per device with no volume discount. I bought two of these and faced the daunting prospect of paying $240 a year just for a subscription just to use them. Without a subscription service, most useful features are *disabled*. Until the service is priced to match competitors (like Ring, which costs $99 per year for unlimited devices), Nest cameras should be avoided. Not sure what they are trying to get here but as a long time Nest customer this is my first return and I am deeply disappointed in the company due to a terrible and greedy contract. We only bought them discreetly because the house was full of Nest devices that we haven't had good experiences with, but the service makes them untenable. We'll seriously consider continuing to buy Nest products after this. Bad show nest. Bring it together. As a long time customer I am returning them and will seriously consider whether or not I should continue to support you as a company after such a poor performance. Assuming those last three years (which I would consider the minimum) even in that *short* period they will cost *double what to buy*. It's outrageous. Especially when you consider that a volume discount for multiple devices is completely absent. To be honest, I was outraged and felt completely robbed. I strongly advise others to avoid this. In all other respects this is a great product. So when Nest starts selling them on a competitive contract and bringing their prices in line with other top-tier players on the market, I'll consider changing this review.
