These speakers met/exceeded my expectations. I thought of the Bose Headspace but just couldn't bring myself to spend THAT much on something that would be exposed to all sorts of weather conditions and possibly stolen. I found (with a little research) that I could connect them to my 17 year old Kenwood receiver using 12-2 gauge landscape wire (speaker wire is too tall and it's the same). My receiver is in the living room, so I ran a cable from the back of the receiver, through the floor, through the subway, and out into the backyard. I buried each speaker at opposite ends of my flower bed and attached them both to landscape wire. I buried all this wire in the ground. What all works is a Chromecast audio device shaped like a $30 hockey puck. I connected it to the CD inputs of the receiver. Then connect it to your WiFi router. This allows me to control my garden speakers on my phone or iPad over a Wi-Fi connection. Most of my music is on Spotify, so I just go to Spotify and then choose where I want to play it. The speakers sound really great with good bass, treble and mids. I made a video to try and record the audio but it doesn't record properly so I won't include it. All my friends are audio snobs, so they all offered Sonos connectivity and/or free Bose wireless storage. All this would cost almost 10 times more. Keep in mind that I have no place to compare next to Bose. I was expecting Bose to sound better but I doubt it would sound 10x better because it would cost me so much more. I'm glad I saved a lot of money to spend elsewhere in my garden.
