Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very good price for a powerful laptop.

64GB Ram 1 TB NVME version bought. As soon as I got it, I let it run through the steps with no surprises. I then blew it out, installed a 2TB EVO 970 in slot 2 and booted fresh Windows 10 along with Arch Linux in a dual boot configuration. I had no problems with the 5.9.x kernel and was able to set up and run the XFCE desktop environment with an AMD GPU. At this point I realized that Linux is not going to do justice to this hardware as the platform is fairly new. Fan modes, lighting, battery charge settings, power consumption, etc. will be difficult to manage/configure on Linux. Maybe in time, but not now. Windows with Asus Armory Crate software makes these features work well. There were many negative reviews about the screen of this laptop. Of course, considering the price of this laptop, it's not going to be the best, but I have no issues with it. I think it looks great. If you're into photography, you might have a problem with it, but have LCD/LED screens always been like this? Everything is fine with the brightness. The thermal parameters seem reasonable and do not cause any problems. Maybe thermals are better? Possibly, but the reviews make you think this laptop is flawed when it really isn't. Overall I am very impressed with the value of this laptop and would recommend it to any gamer and/or power user.
