I bought a 3 cup espresso machine similar to this one about a year ago, just a different brand. I was very dissatisfied with him for many reasons. Fortunately, this brand of tops does not have the disadvantages that the other model had. I am very happy with it. Some of the issues I had with another brand, #1, the inside of the water box was unfinished, it looked like something more suited to industrial equipment. Even a fairly large piece of slag from the casting process was still stuck to the bottom of the container. This Tops brand coffee maker is completely finished, the inside is polished to a mirror finish. For me that's a big plus. Another difference between the two brands is that this Tops coffee maker has a silicone seal instead of the rubber seal of the other brand. This rubber pad had a strong chemical odor that just smelled, even after cleaning it several times and airing it out for weeks. The silicone seal is perfect, works as expected and has no bad smell. The three-cup coffee maker does an excellent job of making espresso. I use coffee beans that I grind myself, slightly larger than for use in a coffee maker. I also like to use darker roasts. Something to keep in mind for people who haven't used a similar pot or brewed espresso is a three-cup coffee maker, but the average cup size is about two ounces of liquid. And it's much stronger than a regular cup of coffee. As long as you follow the instructions, I don't see anyone having problems with this coffee maker. I use it on an electric stove but you can use a gas stove too. I've even used it with the stove a few times. Very happy with this brand.
