Review on Stay Cool On The Go: AUSRANVIK 37 Quart Portable Fridge For Car Freezer - Perfect For Camping, Fishing, And Road Trips! by Matthew Hoang

Fits 2019 plus Sprinter between front seats so can easily access the inside while driving

It cost $315 plus tax. I am using this in my 2020 Mercedes sprinter 144 passenger van 4x4. It is ideal for the Mercedes sprinter 2019 or later because it fits perfectly between the two front seats and the lid opens sideways which means I can access my refrigerator without getting out of the driver seat. Plugging it in is very convenient because there is a 12v cigarette lighter type plug at the base of the driver seat. It fits there even with the parking brake taking part of the space. It has a light that comes on when you open the lid.My sprinter cuts off the power to the 12 V outlet a few minutes after I turn the engine off. I don’t have any solar or separate battery power system yet so I am not running it constantly even though I am living in the van. I have had it for a couple of weeks and it is April in the SFB area and I have a black van so if I’m parked in the sun it can get quite warm but at night it gets pretty cold because my van is not insulated or heated yet. Even when I insulate and heat the van I won’t be doing that for the cab area where I plan on continuing to keep the refrigerator so it will still be cooler at night which will help while I don’t run it at night as I’m not driving. It came with protective flexible foam on the top and bottom in the box and I am using the bottom piece underneath the cooler as an insulator but I had to notch out a very small area in order to fit the plug-in I also save the top piece which I occasionally put on top if the sun is hitting it or if it’s really hot out.I was surprised that the large compartment what is the freezer and a very small compartment was is the refrigerator But I just run it part of the time so I haven’t so far ahead had any major problems with things freezing that I don’t want to freeze. So far I have been keeping it on the lowest setting since it’s not running most of the time. I have a small 7 pound bag of ice in there that I bought about five days ago and so far very little of it has melted even though the fridge has not run most of the time. The obvious advantage of this refrigerator will be for people in a 2019 or later Mercedes sprinter since it is the perfect size and the lid opens the perfect direction for accessing from the driver seat. I do have to climb over it to get to the back but I just prop my two hands on the top of the two seats to reduce the weight from my feet and then climb over it and it hasn’t hurt it so far. Since the floor is not level at that spot I would recommend you put a thin piece of plywood under the flexible foam and attach a block of wood to the plywood at the low end to level it up. I never installed the handles and I don’t see any reason to as I might add insulation on the sides later which I can do as long as I cut out for the vents and the emergency brake. I want to make a removable top which will have the flexible insulation on the bottom and cupholders on top with the material on top that won’t allow things to slide so that I can set things on top of the cooler and they won’t fall off while I’m driving. This will be a handy place to put fast food Or my keys since the sprinter doesn’t require a key In an ignition and I’m always missed placing my keys. As far as I know I’m not using the battery saving feature because my vehicle takes care of that. When I first got it I would switch to the 110 V plug while I was at my mini storage which has power but I haven’t bothered to do that for over a week because it hasn’t been necessary for what I have stored in there. If I had frozen meat in there I would plug it in at my mini storage since I spend several hours there when I go cause I’m also charging my Dewalt batteries in my email batteries while I’m there. If I had frozen meat in there and I was worried that it might go out I would keep the insulation on the lid and keep a bag of ice inside
