So the heater control in our 2002 Highlander was a little erratic for a year or two. I had a mechanic look at this a few months ago. They informed me that the entire "control panel" would need to be replaced to fix the problem. We're talking $1200-1400 with labor here. We decided against it as the heater would still work with enough "hit". Well, of course, now that winter has arrived, the heater/defroster has decided it's all done. not an option you can do without!. So log on to Google and YouTube to see what other options there are. The general consensus was that the problem was almost certainly the soldering of the original heater controls. After some searching it turned out that this kit is exactly what we need. When installing the kit I found that the connection on 2 of the 3 wires on the original control box was loose/broken. I was able to install this kit in about 45 minutes. It was very easy and came with great instructions! I dare say that the wire connections used in this kit are far more reliable than soldering! Great product!
