The bag arrived today. I was so excited that we (the dog and I) opened it at work. Oti, my dog, got in there and didn't want to get out. It seems small to me because it can't turn around in it when it's closed. He only weighs 6 1/2 pounds but has long legs for a Chihuahua. However, he loves it and seems comfortable with it. It will definitely work for an airline and has decent storage space. The last bag we had had more storage but was also bulkier. And if you use the storage space to the maximum, the inside of the bag will sag a bit. If it was a bit bigger (more spacious inside) I would rate it 5 stars.
