Review on IRWIN Tools TurboMax Industrial 3018006B by Carlos Barete

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Meets my modest needs

My DIY enthusiast can't get the pickiest guys up Running but there's variety. This means I'll have to drill different holes from time to time. I mainly work with wood rather than black (soft) metal and plastic so I'm sure they'll last a long time even though I'm using these tools As I'm quite pleased, I have to point out a few oddities. First, (and my fault), it's about 3/8" and not 1/2". Second, and maybe not useful, mine came in a rectangular case, didn't it the one with the beveled top pictured (and my hinges are on the bottom, not the side). I'm almost embarrassed to mention that the plastic hook at the top of my case broke off before I could open it - not since ss I would ever use it as him. Third, and strangest, the set I received has a golden hue reminiscent of the TiN finish - an upgrade from HSS which I thought I'd signed up for. But I agree. The only downside that I may not have experienced in my life is the exotic shape of the cutting tip. I haven't tried it with all that amount of material, but it seems to make sense - and eliminates the need for a pilot hole when using a larger drill bit with a less well-defined 'point'. That's good, but sharpening this exotic shape will require either intense labor or special tools when the time comes. But if supporting individual beats throughout your career is important to you, I suggest you already have your own sources and are willing to delve into such oddities. For me it's a 5/5 - partly because, unlike selfish consumer goods, it doesn't matter as much as its supposed importance or value. It goes in all directions (but not sparingly) and works well with my limited storage space. In general I am satisfied. - wired weird
