I got another one of those meters ($69 with taxes) and this thing gave me numbers that were everywhere. This: non-contact to wood, which has been in my house for years. From 8% to 10% - sounds something like this. A log cut straight: 35% without dowels and 35% with dowels! OK, light it up! My other counter was off by 200%. A bit of wood that has dried for a while. 16% in both directions. You need to make sure you choose the right type of wood (I tested hardwood and softwood - the more expensive counter didn't have that option). The only downside is that she doesn't remember your last setting, so if you keep using her for the same way you'll always turn him back. Don't expect me to use it often enough to annoy me. but it looks like it should be able to store a byte of configuration information.
