The #1 reason I chose this product was that the metal blades were blades, not wires. Unfortunately the point of failure for this was not the cutting tool, but the support of the plastic on the bottom. On the third strawberry the middle plastic spine broke off. Since I had 6 pounds of strawberries to cut and dehydrate, I continued and by the time I was done, the adjacent plastic spines also split but did not break off completely. Continuing to use it meant that the slices were not even. The middle of each strawberry was thicker than the adjacent slices. Not ideal.and disappointing.
