Let's face it there is nothing quite like a live plant aquarium and I have kept one for many years. But they are busy and now I don't want to work that much, but I definitely want to keep my tanks. I recently purchased these and several other plastic aquarium plants for a few new setups. I have to say that this particular plant certainly doesn't look good as long as it's real. "Fake" is, but the tank still looks very good. The only caveat I would like to make is not specific to this topic, but to ALL plastic plants. Once covered with algae, they are very difficult to remove from plastic. Therefore, I would say that the brightness of the light in the aquarium should be reduced. If you want it to be bright for viewing, don't do so for more than about 2.5 hours a day. For the rest of the day, either turn off the lights or leave them very dim if your light allows you to do so. This keeps the plastic plant looking good and avoids that it just looks ugly and you have to throw it away and order a new one.
