Review on πŸ”§ ROKR Kit: Mechanical Engineering Educational Toys for Fun-Filled Birthdays by Kenneth Barnes

Brilliant. Crazy! See below!

When Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin invented the rigid, lighter-than-air ship named after him, he had no idea that this aircraft would be immortalized on the cover of MAD Magazine. MAD used the boat as a passenger gondola suspended from the airship. They were small and puny compared to the large water and land vehicles in this set. It took me a while to complete (days not hours) but it's nice. I needed a lot of wax to get the parts to fit together without damage. I use white birthday cake candles as extra wax. There are a few inconspicuous spots where I used glue to get the two visible pieces together properly. And there are still spots where dripping glue from a toothpick was enough for me to make it strong. We started the spring and the vehicle barely moved on the thick carpet. But in the kitchen and in the hallway it rumbled over the linoleum at a distance of 2.5-3 meters, with propellers spinning and gears moving. All in all a well made and fun product that will look great on display. I ordered a dozen large interlocking plastic cubes with doors to keep my wooden puzzles up to four from gathering dust. And I print out the letters "MAD" on thin paper in a matching bright red font and stick them to the side of the zeppelin.
