Review on πŸ‘ž Classic Chestnut Men's Shoes: Old Friend Loafer Slipper by James Lighting

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Worn in 2 months

Purchased in December - needed a quality pair of slippers and they had very good average reviews and the photos looked beautiful. They were a little bigger than I expected but I figured you get what you pay for. There isn't much here. Appearance upon arrival was ambiguous. The material was nice and soft and seemed durable, but a couple of the seams were crooked and the fluffy inner lining was sticking out through a couple of stitch holes. Not a big deal and they were comfortable - cushioned insole, fluffy lining. Just trim off the fluff that is sticking out of the stitches. There was a slight sticky/chemical/offended odor upon receipt which intensified for the first week of wear and then disappeared. Worn an average of 4-6 hours a day, 5 days a week, mostly seated. Let's say 30 minutes a day on foot or standing around the house and in the backyard on our patio. Our house is half hardwood floor, half thick carpet. I dropped chocolate ice cream on it, wiped it off and immediately washed it with cold water and a washcloth, but no luck. They colored. Didn't try running them in the washing machine as it was a tiny stain, they were for domestic use only and I wasn't sure if that would make a difference. It didn't make much of a difference, but if it did, you could try Scotchguard or something similar. Disappointed that after about two months the rubber soles on the sides started to peel off. They are glued and sewn to keep them in place, but the stitching looked cheap as the glue had discolored the material where it was previously glued. You can see it in the picture. Tonight, around week 10, I noticed that the bottom sole of one of them was split. Never worn - the photo shows that the tread on the rubber sole is still fairly fresh, the rubber is just torn. I didn't step on a giant shard of glass or an improvised explosive device, so my only guess is that the stress of walking and twisting ripped them apart the way it ripped an adhesive bond. such a heavy burden on her. I can only imagine that they were a little too wide for my foot and the displacement of my foot on the inside while walking was more than they could handle. A chew toy for a Rottweiler is not allowed.
