I tested this set and I really like it. The instructions are easy to follow and give a few different styles and simple dash lines/directions to follow. There are even guides for a few simple banners that can help you better emphasize certain words/phrases. The book also shows me how to decorate/color my letters. I still need some practice, but writing looks different for everyone. I love that I can at least follow the basic steps to create more fancy letters. This works well when I'm making homemade postcards. I also love how I can do watercolor shading and then write letters on it (just make sure the paint is completely dry). 3 different size brushes make it easy to achieve a calligraphic look. I also wrote my first letter in pencil and just stroked it with a brush. All in all, this is a good calligraphy starter kit. It also comes with some decent calligraphy pens and the instructions are easy to follow.
