Review on ☕ Kalita Style Coffee Dripper 102: A Brown Classic for Perfect Brewing by Braden Douville

Brews good coffee but broken - poor quality control

I bought this drip about two years ago and it annoys me so much I feel like I should come here and write a review. The base of my device has deformed in such a way that the base is not held securely by the three small protrusions on the underside that should give it three-point stability. Rather, it sits on the convex (deformed) part of the bottom and on only one of the ledges without touching the other two. Every time I brew coffee, the thing wobbles annoyingly on my coffee cup. I've tried this with different sized coffee cups, thermos flasks, etc. and the problem is always the same. Very disappointing quality control, especially for a product made in Japan. I thought I would get used to it, but the instability still bothers me more than ever. What I love about this dropper is that it makes a smooth, quality drink. Likewise, I'm not worried about staining from coffee-colored glaze. Therefore, the cleaning procedure is simple: discard the filter, quickly rinse the dripper (top and bottom) and throw it on the dryer the next day.

Pros
  • Everything OK!
Cons
  • don't remember
