Soooo. The kids got some hermit crabs and we learned afterwards that if you want to take good care of them, you can't just throw them in an aquarium and leave them to their fate. nope Temperature and humidity must be maintained. In short, hermit crabs get their oxygen from the moisture in the air. So you have to get that moisture into the air. This moisture must not contain chlorine. This includes the following things. We "spray the tank" daily (or as often as needed to keep moisture where it should be) with a 16-ounce spray bottle. I use about 0.5mg per bottle or 4mg per gallon. This $12 250 gram pack of wonder chemical lasts for 60,000 gallons. a month. 0.5 mg x 12 = 6 mg per year. Or 0.006 grams. I have 250 grams. 250 grams = 250,000 milligrams. 250,000mg/6mg = 41,666.66.
